Best Leicester picks in FPL

Last modified date

We take a look at the best Leicester picks in FPL. With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout members area, we utilise its fixture ticker and underlying stats to determine which Leicester players FPL managers should be targeting.

Looking at the best Leicester picks in FPL could be really beneficial to FPL managers as we approach an exciting double Gameweek. Overviewing both their defensive and offensive options and finding out which players are worth selecting.

Fixtures

As we can see from the fixture ticker below, Leicester rank fourth. This means they have the fourth best fixtures from now until the end of the season. We can also see that the Foxes have a double Gameweek in 29 and play a fixture in blank Gameweek 32.

The Leicester attack

This season so far Leicester rank around mid-table for a lot of key attacking data points. This suggests that they are fully capable of scoring goals. However, they also rank the best for goals scored outside of the box (11).

More recently, in the last six matches Leicester rank around mid-table for most of the key attacking data points. However, in terms of shots on target they rank the joint third worst in the league (16).

The best Leicester attackers

James Maddison is the standout option in the Leicester frontline. The midfielder has maintained solid non penalty expected goal involvement all season. He has also managed a whopping nine goals and six assists in just 20 games this campaign.

The second best attacking option could well be Harvey Barnes. The midfielder has collected an impressive nine goals and one assist this season. He also ranks above all of his other offensive teammates for non expected goal involvement this season.

The Leicester defence

This season things have not been great at the back for Leicester. They rank as the third worst team in the league for goals conceded (47), joint third worst for clean sheets kept (six), and amongst the worst eight teams for other key defensive data points.

More recently, in the last six Gameweeks Leicester rank joint worst for clean sheets kept (zero) and amongst the five worst teams for shots conceded (77) and shots on target conceded (23). This could suggest that things are not improving defensively.

The best Leicester defensive options

For those still looking into the Leicester defenders even though they are showing some concerning defensive stats Timothy Castagne (£4.4m) could be a good option. The Belgium full-back ranks amongst the best 11 defenders in the league this season for non penalty expected goal involvement (3.37). He also leads all of his defensive teammates for this as well.

Interestingly since opposite wing-back Ricardo Pereira (£4.3m) returned to full fitness, he edges Castagne for non-penalty expected goal involvement (0.61). With that in mind, he could also be a good option moving forward.
