Gameweek 27 best free hit team

Last modified date

With a new Gameweek upon us we take a look at the free hit chip. Using the Fantasy Football Scout members area we can utilise the season ticker and underlying stats to determine the Gameweek 27 best free hit team.

The free hit chip in FPL allows managers, within the same budget and formational limits, to select a team for one particular Gameweek. Managers can attack any given Gameweek with the free hit whether that be to utilise a good set of fixtures, in-form teams or players or a mixture of it all. However, Experienced FPL managers usually tend to use the chip in blank Gameweeks.

Fixture ticker

Who has the best fixtures?

Brentford, Brighton, Southampton and Crystal Palace all rank amongst the top teams with the easiest fixtures, all of whom have a double Gameweek. Tottenham also make the top five teams with the easiest fixtures but with a single match.

Who has the worst fixtures?

Wolves, Fulham, Nottingham Forest, Bournemouth and Leeds all make the the bottom five teams with the toughest fixtures.

The best free hit team

Using the Live FPL website we can use one of its fantastic tools to plan transfers weeks in advance. Not just this, but we can also create team drafts to plan for using a chip. Take a look at the best free hit team for Gameweek 27:

Goalkeepers

Brentford rank at the top of the fixture ticker this week with a double Gameweek. This means that David Raya (£4.8m) has two very good chances of bagging a clean sheet. Because of that, Raya is an easy inclusion.

Southampton’s Gavin Bazuna (£4.5m) sits on the substitute bench and will only feature in the unlikely even that Raya fails to play.

Defenders

Both of the teams Brentford face in the round ahead rank amongst the four worst teams for goals scored this season so further investment in their backline could be beneficial. Full-back Rico Henry (£4.5m) gets into some fantastic offensive positioning on the pitch so could be a great addition.

Newcastle face a team who have scored less goals this season than most other teams in the league and Kieran Trippier (£6m) dominates the distribution stats amongst defenders. Brighton have two games against teams that struggle defensively and full-back Pervis Estupinan (£4.8m) has picked up a return in every one of his last six matches.

Newcastle’s Sven Botman (4.5m) and Arsenal’s Ben White (£4.7m) are two great enabling defenders playing for teams putting up some great defensive stats, both of whom make the substitute bench.

Midfielders

In the last six matches Brighton rank amongst the best five teams for attempts on goal (91), shots in the box (60), big chances total (21) and shots on target (33). Because of this and their fantastic double Gameweek it could be wise to double up on their attack. Alex Mac Allister (£5.4m) is taking up a new attacking position and takes set pieces including penalties whilst Kaoru Mitoma (£5.5m) has picked up three double-digit hauls in his last six matches.

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah (£12.7m) seems to have found his form after hitting five goals and four assists in his last six matches in all competitions. The Egyptian faces a fixture against a Bournemouth side that rank the worst team for shots on target conceded (36) and shots in the box (77).

Manchester United are maintaining some great attacking stats this season and they face a struggling Southampton in the match ahead. No player in the league has scored more goals in the last six matches than Marcus Rashford (£7.3m).

No team has conceded more big chances in the league this season than Fulham and Arsenal in the last six matches rank first for goals (17), first attempts on goal (149) and first shots in the box (99). In that same period Bukayo Saka (£8.5m) ranks first for attempts on goal (32) and first for shots in the box (23).

Forwards

Manchester City have sustained some great attacking stats this season and a large factor to why that is is Erling Haaland (£12.2m). The Norwegian sits as the highest scoring and highest owned player in FPL so is an easy inclusion.

Brentford have two matches against two of the worst defences in the league who are both fighting in the relegation battle this season. Main man and penalty taker Ivan Toney (£7.7m) has banked 15 goals and three assists already this campaign.

Southampton have a double Gameweek this week so Che Adams (£6.1m) could be worth a shot after picking up an assist in his last game. Adams has two shots at a return but will only feature if another attacker fails to play.

Should we sell Erling Haaland in FPL? We take a look here.
