Gameweek 25 best free hit team
With a new Gameweek upon us we take a look at the free hit chip. Using the Fantasy Football Scout members area we can utilise the season ticker and underlying stats to determine the Gameweek 25 best free hit team.
The free hit chip in FPL allows managers, within the same budget and formational limits, to select a team for one particular Gameweek. Managers can attack any given Gameweek with the free hit whether that be to utilise a good set of fixtures, in-form teams or players or a mixture of it all. However, Experienced FPL managers usually tend to use the chip in blank Gameweeks.
Fixture ticker
Who has the best fixtures?
Arsenal, Liverpool, Everton and Wolves all make up the top four teams with the easiest fixtures and all of whom face double Gameweeks. West Ham also make up the top five teams with the easiest fixtures with a game against Nottingham Forest.
Who has the worst fixtures?
Newcastle, Manchester United, Brighton and Brentford all make up the bottom four teams with the toughest fixtures, as none of them play a match in Gameweek 25. Bournemouth also make up the bottom five teams with the hardest fixtures as they face Manchester City.
The best free hit team
Using the Live FPL website we can use one of its fantastic tools to plan transfers weeks in advance. Not just this, but we can also create team drafts to plan for using a chip. Take a look at the best free hit team for Gameweek 25:
Goalkeepers
Everton face a double Gameweek this week and they offer up some of the cheapest defensive players in the game. Jordan Pickford (£4.4m) has two shots at the clean sheet and plenty of potential for save points. He is backed up by Leicester’s Danny Ward (£4m) in the likely event Pickford does not feature.
Defenders
Everton continue to pour out players who help enable funds elsewhere. Centre back James Tarkowski (£4.3m) ranks sixth amongst all defenders in the last six matches whilst also claiming a huge 15-point haul for his goal, clean sheet and bonus in Gameweek 22.
Wolves have a double Gameweek in the round ahead. They also have a considerable threat at the back via centre-back Craig Dawson (£4.8m). He ranks second amongst his defensive teammates for expected goal involvement in the last six matches.
Liverpool face two poor attacks in Gameweek 25, Crystal Palace and Wolves. It could be difficult to leave out Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.3m) who dominates the distribution stats amongst all defenders this season with Newcastle’s Kieran Trippier.
Wolves’s Huge Bueno (£3.9m) sits as the first substitute on the bench. He will feature if any of the starting 11 fail to feature. West Ham’s Emerson Palmieri (£4m) also acts as a great enabler and resides second on the substitutes bench. He showed his attacking qualities scoring in one of his most recent games against Chelsea.
Midfielders
Arsenal rank as one of the best offensive lines in the league this season. They face two fragile defences in Leicester and Everton in Gameweek 25. For that reason it could be beneficial to double up on their attack with penalty taker Bukayo Saka (£8.4m) and six-time double-digit haul collector Martin Ødegaard (£7m).
Liverpool look to be improving and their recent results reflect that. Although Wolves are showing some average to strong defensive stats, Crystal Palace are conceding some of the worst in the last six matches. Main man and penalty taker Mohamed Salah (£12.6m) not only makes his way into the team but also picks up the captaincy armband.
The final playing midfield position could be where many take a risk. Wolves face two teams (Liverpool and Fulham) who are amongst the worst teams in league this season for big chances conceded. For that reason it could be worth giving new boy Pablo Sarabia (£5.5m) a shot. The Spaniard had a shot on target and created four key passes in his most recent game.
Fulham’s Andreas Pereira (£4.4m) sits as the third substitute whilst enabling funds elsewhere within the starting 11.
Forwards
The inclusion of the relentless Erling Haaland (£12.2m) is a given. His 26 goals and four assists accumulate to 30 goal contributions already this season. No team has more attempts on goal than Arsenal in their last six matches. Striker Eddie Nketiah ranks first amongst all forwards in the league over the last six matches for non penalty expected goal involvement (5.92), nearly two ahead of second place Erling Haaland.
Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez (£8.7m) ranks first amongst his offensive teammates for expected goal involvement in the last six matches as well as facing two fixtures this week. It is vital we monitor his injury status after he picked up a shoulder issue in his most recent league match.
