Highlighting the best captain for Matchday 7 can be detrimental to both rank and a manager’s total points at the end of the Matchday. Making sure we take in as much information we can adds to the probability of a successful captaincy matchday.
Tuesday February 14th
Tottenham face AC Milan in Matchday 7. The Italian are in a poor run of form as of late. In fact they have lost four of their last five matches in all competitions whilst also conceding three or more goals in three of the same five games.
Harry Kane (€10.5m) has had an excellent season so far. The English striker has bagged a huge 17 goals and one assist in his 23 domestic league matches this season. Taking penalties and against a poor AC Milan makes Kane the standout captaincy option on Tuesday.
Wednesday February 15th
Benfica are in top form coming into their round of 16 fixture against Club Brugge. The Portuguese side have won eight of their last 10 league matches and kept an impressive six clean sheets whilst also scoring 27 goals, averaging 2.7 goals per game.
Club Brugge are under new management but their form has been poor winning just one of their last 10 game in all competitions. One way to benefit from Benfica’s strong defence and attack is Alejandro Grimaldo (€5.3m). The left back has secured six three clean sheets, three assists and two goals in his last 10 matches.
Tuesday February 21st
Napoli have been ripping through their domestic league opponents all season. At the time of writing, they sit 16 points clear at the top of the table in Serie A. In their last 10 matches Napoli have won eight, reflecting relentless form.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (€5.9m) is without a doubt their standout option. The young winger has picked up nine goals and nine assists in his 18 league matches. Hitting returns in as many matches played Kvaratskhelia is also on penalty duty, boosting his already huge appeal.
Wednesday February 22nd
Manchester City have proven to be one of the biggest scorers in Europe over the years and there’s not been much change to that. Although stumbling through their last set of results the potential they have going into any given game is too big to miss.
The standout captain for the entire Matchday could arguably be Erling Haaland (€11.1m). Scoring a whopping 25 goals and creating four assists domestically, Haaland has totalled 29 goal contributions in 21 matches. In the form he’s in there could be huge risk in not selecting him for the captaincy this week.
