@FPLReaction' first FPL draft

Best fixtures throughout January

Last modified date

Janaury is a big month for FPL managers. Some managers will potentially look to play their Wildcard n February ahead of Gameweek 22 and the Double Gameweek in 23. There are only two gameweeks left to play in January. Here we take a look at who has the best fixtures throughout January.

It is possible that FPL managers will have a double gameweek in Gameweek 20. Spurs and Man City will both play twice as long as neither require a replay in the FA Cup third round. Man City and Spurs play their FA Cup matches on Saturday and Sunday. If their games are settled, and do not finish in a draw, they will play their previously postponed fixture against each other in Gameweek 20. If either side draws then the fixture will not be played as they will need to play an FA Cup Third Round replay.

Man City and Spurs sit top of the fixture ticker because they play twice.

Outside of these two sides Brentford, Bournemouth, West Ham and Southampton all have good fixtures.

Brentford, Bournemouth, West Ham and Southampton

These for teams sit just under Spurs and Man City on the fixture ticker for the January fixtures. These would therefore usually be teams that FPL managers would look to target. Bournemouth, West Ham and Southampton have all struggled since the Premier League restart. Even with good fixtures these teams seem difficult to invest in. There are some budget options such as Kyle Walker-Peters (£4.4m) or Lucas Picquet (£5.9m) who took a penalty in Gameweek 19 who managers could look at. However, there are other players who have more potential to return.

Brentford are the exception with these four clubs. Many FPL managers were wary of the impact that Ivan Toney‘s (£7.4m) injury would have on Brentford. However, their 3-1 victory over Liverpool in Gameweek 19 suggests that they could still be a good team to invest in. Brentford play Bournemouth and Leeds in January, both teams who are regularly conceding goals. Therefore investing in players such as Bryan Mbeumo (£5.8m) or Yoane Wissa (£5.3m) still look like great options. Both a big differentials too, only owned by 2.3% and 0.2% of managers respectively.

Other teams with good fixtures

Aston Villa, Leeds, Everton and Newcastle also have attractive fixtures throughout January. The likes of Villa and Newcastle provide FPL managers a good opportunity to invest.

Villa are benefiting from new manager bounce. Their current form, plus them benefitting from some of the best fixtures throughout January. Players such as Leon Bailey, Ollie Watkins and the defenders could offer good options for FPL managers.

Newcastle are a team that most managers are already doubled up on. Kieran Trippier and Mig Almiron are owned by % and % of FPL managers respectively. The Newcastle fixtures are excellent and this could mean that the triple up of Newcastle players is good. Both Sven Botman and Callum Wilson could be good additions for FPL managers to target the best fixtures throughout January.

Overall

If Man City and Spurs do play twice in Gamweweek 20 then they are definitely the teams to target for January. This is especially true of Man City who play twice again in Gameweek 23. Newcastle and Aston Villa also look like teams that FPL managers could target as teams with good form and nice fixtures.
