Best players against their Gameweek 18 opposition

Last modified date

We take a look at some of the best players against their Gameweek 18 opposition. Using previous head-to-head records and underlying stats from the Fantasy Football Scout members area to help us pick out some great FPL picks for the round ahead.

Picking out the best players against their Gameweek 18 opposition could be helpful in making both transfer and captaincy decisions. The more information FPL managers have the better our decisions tend to be in terms of having successful assets in our fantasy teams.

Harry Kane v Aston Villa

Harry Kane (£11.6m) sits as the second highest scoring player in FPL at the time of writing. The strikers relentless form includes just three blanks in 17 Gameweeks. His 109 points consists of 13 goals and one assist.

The Englishman faces a meeting against an inconsistent Aston Villa in Gameweek 18. Against his opponent, Harry Kane has a fantastic record as we can see. In the 10 matches he has played against Aston Villa, he’s returned in six of them, including three double-digit hauls.

Wilfried Zaha v Bournemouth

Crystal Palace are having a solid start to their season. They sit 11th in the league at the time of writing. Midfielder Wilfried Zaha (£7.5m) is one of the biggest contributors towards their good start. The midfielder has managed six goals and two assists in the campaign so far.

Wilfried Zaha can be a frustrating own at times but he does have a great record against newly promoted sides. As we can see in the 16 matches he played against them, Zaha has returned in 10 of them. Those returns include seven goals and seven assists.

Mason Mount v Nottingham Forest

Chelsea have been inconsistent for large parts of the campaign and one player who shares that is Mason Mount (£7.5m). The midfielder has only collected three returns all season and sits on a total of just 53 points in FPL.

Although inconsistent, Mason Mount has a very strong record against newly promoted sides. We can see in graphic below that Mount has returned in seven of the 11 matches he has played against them, including two double-digit hauls.

Phil Foden

Man City are maintaining some of the best attacking stats in the league and whilst many will be focusing on Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland, midfielder Phil Foden (£8.3m) could slip under the radar for fantasy managers.

Phil Foden has been subject to rotation which seems to be the biggest issue. However the midfielder has managed three returns in five matches against a one of the worst teams in the league for shots in the box conceded, Everton.
