Community Team Reveal Gameweek 17 – FPL Poet
Each Gameweek brings an FPL community team reveal. As a result, that person gives insight into their transfers, captaincy and future plans.
Ahead of Gameweek 17, it’s the turn of FPL Poet to tell us what he is doing to his team.
Merry Christmas and thanks for the team reveal. So how did the first half of your season go?
I was expecting better to be honest. At the end of Gameweek 1, I was under 500k and then went up another 150k places. But now I am outside one million, regularly jumping in and out of this threshold.
We know this can change very quickly and that’s what I am hoping for now, getting a few decisions right on the money.
With unlimited free transfers, what does your defence look like?
I have opted to keep Joao Cancelo. We never know when he will get a 15-pointer and he is owned by over 53%. As Reece James is back, there is no reason I would ignore him. Both Kieran Trippier and Ben White have been in my team for a while, like Neco Williams. Therefore, I am sticking to four of my five defenders from Gameweek 16.
Nick Pope has still not been sold but I will get either Kepa or Robert Sanchez before the deadline.
Meanwhile, what about your midfield and attack?
I did not have the guts to go without Mohamed Salah before and I don’t dare to now. After this period of rest, he will be really hungry. Also staying are Gabriel Martinelli and Andreas Pereira, whilst taking a punt on Marcus Rashford and Martin Odegaard. The Arsenal captain is because of a gut feeling.
Meanwhile, Erling Haaland is a must, then I am doubling up on Man United’s attack with Anthony Martial replacing Aleksandar Mitrovic. Darwin Nunez is also a gut-feeling pick. To me he is a mini Haaland – if he plays, he will bring you points. Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz are out, so this is his time.
So are any future transfers being planned?
Not yet. Let’s see how the Double Gameweek games are set up.
Finally, what about captaincy?
Haaland. No doubt.
