Gameweek 9 FPL community reactions

Last modified date

We take a look at some of the best Gameweek 9 community reactions from FPL Twitter as the round plays out. With both positive and negative reactions to some of the key events including FPL assets.

Reactions in the FPL Gameweek 9 community can help other FPL managers by highlighting things like player minutes, player form, team form and anything else that could have implications within our fantasy teams.

@FPLNym

FPL content creator @FPLNym highlighted Arsenal forward Gabriel Jesus (£8m). The Brazilian started he season as the highest owned player in FPL. That ownership has dropped over the course of the season. Jesus now sits at 69% ownership. Although that has dropped, not owning the striker can cause serious damage to FPL ranks.

The Arsenal man scored in the London derby. This took the striker to five returns in eight matches played. Arsenal play against Liverpool in Gameweek 10 but then blank in Gameweek 12. Could we see Gabriel Jesus’s ownership drop even more.

Fantasy Football Scout contributor Tom made a very interesting point. Tottenham striker (£11.4m) Harry Kane continued his relentless form against Arsenal. The Spurs main man put away a penalty. Kane has now notched up an incredible seven returns in his first eight matches of the season.

Many decided to back Man City forward Erling Haaland (£12.1m) over Harry Kane due to budget restrictions. However, with his current form, many managers could now be looking to include Kane within their fantasy teams moving forward.

@FPLFocal

Fulham striker Aleksander Mitrovic (£6.9m) started the season really well. In fact, the Serbian striker returned in five of his seven matches before Gameweek 9. Those returns led to a mass purchase of the Fulham forward.

@FPLFocal delivers news that Mitrovic was subbed off around the 37th minute in Gameweek 9. The striker returned zero points but that isn’t the worst of it. The Fulham man also went off injured which means managers could already have an issue to resolve ahead of the next Gameweek.

@OfficialFPL

Brighton played against Liverpool in Gameweek 9. Official FPL highlighted a huge contributor towards the Brighton goals in their thrilling 3-3 draw. Popular asset and midfielder Mohamed Salah (£12.8m) came away with just an assist amongst all of those goals.

Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.4m) continues to disappoint his owners after coming away with zero points. Star of the show was Brighton midfielder Leandro Trossard (£6.6m) after his three goals saw him reach a massive double-digit haul.

@FplMode

Andy returns for another appearance. He made a very interesting point. Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke (£5.7m) attracted lots of new owners within the community prior to Gameweek 9. His double-digit haul against Nottingham Forest recently was a reminder of his potential.

However, a Solanke return wasn’t to be. There were two strong calls for penalties, but both were turned down for the Cherries. Solanke drew up an FPL blank this week in his match against Brentford.
