Best Gameweek 9 fixtures

Last modified date

With Blank Gameweek 8 firmly in the rear view mirror, FPL managers are looking ahead to Gameweek 9. With some international fixtures still to play managers should be careful not to move too quickly when it comes to transfer planning. To help FPL managers with their decisions we take a look at the teams with the best fixtures in Gameweek 9.

Fantasy Football Scout members have the opportunity to sort the Fixture Ticker by difficulty. This means that they are able to see how difficult the matches are over a range they have specified. Members are also able to sort the Fixture Ticker by defence and attack. You can sign up as a Fantasy Football Scout member here.

We have sorted the Fixture Ticker by difficulty and the four teams that sit top are Leicester, Brentford, Southampton and Leeds. We take a look at the teams with the best fixtures in Gameweek 9.

Leicester

Leicester are top of the FFScout Fixture Ticker for Gameweek 9. They face newly promoted Nottingham Forest in Gameweek 9. Forest have conceded 17 goals so far this season. Only two teams have conceded more. These defensive weaknesses should be able to be exploited by Leicester’s attackers in Gameweek 9.

James Maddison (£7.9m) has scored three goals so far this season, including one against Spurs in Gameweek 8. The midfielder is also top for goal attempts (20) and chances created (13) across the Leicester team.

Brentford

Second on the Fixture Ticker for Gameweek 9 are Brentford. The Bee’s travel to Bournemouth in Gameweek 9.

Ivan Toney (£7.2m) Is the third highest scoring player in the game currently. Only premium forwards Harry Kane (£11.4m) and Erling Haaland (£12.0m) have returned more FPL points.

Brentford have scored 15 goals so far this season, only Man City, Spurs and Arsenal have scored more. This bodes well for attacking returns, especially against a Bournemouth side who have conceded 12 goals in the last four matches in the league.

Southampton

Southampton sit third on the Fixture Ticker for Gameweek 9. They host Everton on Saturday at 3:00pm.

Southampton have had a difficult start to the season, made worse by defeat to Villa in Gameweek 8. However, Everton look set to be without some key assets in Gameweek 9, including goalkeeper Jordan Pickford (£4.5m).

James Ward-Prowse (£6.5m) has returned more FPL points than any other Southampon player so far this campaign. The midfielder has registered 24 points to date. Forward Che Adams (£6.4m) has had more goal attempts than any other Southampton player with 11. Three of those have been classified as big chances.

Leeds

Leeds are fourth on the Fixture Ticker for Gameweek 9. They face Aston Villa on Sunday.

Villa have struggled for clean sheets so far this season, keeping just one in the opening Gameweeks. This could be a weakness that the Leeds attacking players are able to exploit.

Leeds have scored 10 goals so far this season. Only seven teams have scored more. This is especially impressive given the injuries Leeds have had this season. Patrick Bamford (£7.3m) is available having played 45 minutes against Brentford in Gameweek 8.
