Top Fantasy Bundesliga picks for Matchday 6
FBL Thinker is an expert at the Fantasy Bundesliga game and here he shares his top weekly picks for Matchday 6.
Last weekend was a mixed bag with many unexpected results. My team totalled 124 points after taking the risk of going without any Bayern defenders, enabling me to climb up to ninth overall. Below are my picks for Matchday 6.
STRIKERS
Sadio Mané (FC Bayern München) – 17.1m
Mane didn’t score in the last match against Union. However, he is the most reliable option in the Bayern attack for minutes and faces a weak Stuttgart defence. He has a great chance of getting on the score sheet.
Niclas Füllkrug (SV Werder Bremen) – 6.1m
Last time, Füllkrug scored twice against Bochum, including a penalty. A home match against low-lying Augsburg should enable Füllkrug to add to his goal tally.
Michael Gregoritsch (Sport-Club Freiburg) – 8.0m
Gregoritsch is the joint-top scorer for Freiburg this season with three goals and, playing against a Gladbach team with key defenders missing, this is a good opportunity to add more. Furthermore, he plays last on Matchday 6, giving flexibility with the captaincy.
MIDFIELDERS
Vincenzo Grifo (Sport-Club Freiburg) – 14.4m
Meanwhile, Grifo is another of Freiburg’s in-form players and was instrumental against Leverkusen. This standalone fixture against Gldabch offers great potential and makes Grifo near-essential for this week.
Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund) – 15.1m
Reus is consistent and the focal point of Dortmund’s attack. They are hitting good form and are up against leaky Leipzig, who have conceded four goals each in both of their last two matches.
Florian Kainz (FC Köln) – 9.1m
Kainz was in sensational form last time, bagging a goal, two assists and 27 points. He has been central to the Koln attack and is about to face Union, so his recent form and flexibility make him a key Fantasy asset.
DEFENDERS
Benjamin Pavard (FC Bayern München) – 12.2m
With five double-digit scores in the first five matches, Pavard has been one of the most consistent Fantasy Bundesliga defenders. The hosting of Stuttgart looks good for another clean sheet, as well as a potential attacking return.
Christian Günter (Sport-Club Freiburg) – 13.1m
Like the aforementioned Freiburg teammates, Gunter plays in the final match. He has the potential to deliver at both ends of the pitch.
Jonas Hector (FC Köln) – 10.3m
Hector has been a constant threat down the left flank for Koln, often creating chances with his crosses.
GOALKEEPERS
Mark Flekken (Sport-Club Freiburg) – 10.7m
More Freiburg love, as stopper Flekken plays behind a stable backline that regularly registers clean sheets. Opponents Gladbach have struggled to score when away from home.
Alexander Meyer (Borussia Dortmund) – 2.5m
First choice Gregor Kobel is injured, so cheaply-priced Meyer will be between the sticks for Dortmund against Leipzig.
Frederik Rønnow (FC Union Berlin) – 6.1m
Union have been very good defensively, only conceding four goals. They have a difficult away game at Koln but it wouldn’t be a surprise if Rønnow finds another way to do well.
