Gameweek 7 best wildcard team

Last modified date

Looking at the Gameweek 7 best wildcard team. Using the Fantasy Football Scout season ticker, we can see which teams have the best run of fixtures. This can then aid FPL managers in picking out some of the best assets for the run ahead.

The wildcard gives managers the opportunity to change their entire team for any reason. FPL have given the community two wildcards to use in each half of the season. In addition, unlike any other season, FPL have also provided managers with unlimited transfers during the World Cup.

Fixture ticker

Below we can see the teams that have the best fixtures at the top all the way down to the teams that have the worst fixtures at the bottom.

The obvious options

Some players don’t need the help of the fixture to identify as great options long term. Several of those key players consist of Liverpool defender Trent. Along with Man City options like defender Cancelo and forward Haaland. Chelsea defender Reece James could also be considered as an obvious option to include.

Other great options-Trippier

Newcastle have actually started the season better than some of the ‘big six’ teams defensively. They rank the second-best team in the league on the fixture ticker. This suggests that investing in their players could be highly beneficial to managers.

Trippier (£5.2m) is one of the highest owned defenders in the game at 32%, which is likely to increase. Sitting as the second highest scoring points returner amongst defenders, he’s had a great start to the season. With four returns in his last six matches, taking free-kicks and great fixtures ahead, Trippier has to be considered for the wildcard.

Toney

Free-scoring Brentford are yet to come up short in terms of goals this season. Racking up 15 goals, they average a total of 2.5 goals scored per game. Brentford rank fourth on the fixture ticker up until the World Cup when managers get unlimited transfers. Investing in their assets cou;ld be a good idea for FPL managers.

£7.2m striker Toney continues his relentless FPL season as he currently resides as the second highest points returner in the game, only behind Man City forward Haaland. His five goals and two assists mean that the striker has now provided more attacking returns than matches he played in. In in-form Toney should be considered when wildcarding.

Mitrovic

Another striker having a great start to the season is Mitrovic. The Fulham striker has delivered against some of the best teams in the league and proven he’s up to the task of taking on the Premier Leagues’ top finishers.

Mitrovic is currently putting up some of the best underlying offensive stats in the league. Amongst all players he is second for goals, first for attempts on goal (two ahead of Haaland) and second for big chances total.

The £6.8m forward has now returned FPL points in five out of the six matches played so far. Those returns consist of six goals and plenty of bonus points. With good long-term fixtures and great attacking stats, Mitrovic could well be considered for the wildcard.
