Who played well in FPL Gameweek 4?

Last modified date

We answer the question, Who played well in FPL Gameweek 4? We identify some key FPL assets that looked impressive in their fourth fixture of the season. With a focus on Saturdays matches that were shown live on Sky Sports and BT Sports on the weekend.

Underlying stats will always be very useful for FPL managers in their chase for success. However eye test has always been a huge factor when looking at potential FPL assets to bring into our fantasy teams.

Diogo Dalot

Along with his club Manchester United, the £4.4m defender started the season in rough form. Before Gameweek 4 Dalot had returned just two points in his first three matches. That changed in Gameweek 4 when the defender looked fantastic going forward.

Dalot spent plenty of time in the opponents half and could even be seen in the Southampton box on occasions. His creator side came out with some great crosses and bursting runs down the wing. His efforts were rewarded when he got the assist for the winning goal and collected three bonus points taking his match tally to 11 points.

Bruno Fernandes

Similar to Dalot the £9.8m midfielder really struggled in the opening gameweeks to find any form in terms of FPL. However, with two back to back Premier League wins we could start to see those performances improve.

Bruno looked hungry for goals and assists and getting into some great attacking positions. Instead of creating Bruno turned his focus on goal threat. With three shots on target the midfielder looked dangerous. His performance was rewarded with an eight point return in FPL from his winning goal against Southampton.

Aleksandar Mitrović

Fulham continue to look good going forward and that’s reflected in the fact they’ve scored in three of their four matches played. A huge contributor to that is main man and £6.6m forward Mitrovic. His four goals has seen him hit over 20 FPL points so far this season.

The forward made his presence known. His strong hold up play really affected Arsenal’s ability to regain control of the ball. His aerial ability also came through as he was dominate every time the ball came to him in the oppositions box. Mitrovic scored from his two shots on target and also created a key pass against Arsenal. A fantastic overall performance.

Martin Ødegaard

Arsenal remain one of the best teams in the league for underlying offensive stats. That can also be backed up by their consistent scoring form. The gunners have netted at least two goals in every match they have played so far and the £6.5m midfielder Odegaard is comfortably one of the main reasons for that.

Odegaard showed impressive footwork to glide past the Fulham defence multiple times during the match. His link up play and ability to read the game mixed with his hunger to score meant he came away with another attacking return. His two key passes and two shots on target lead to a goal but it could have been more.
