Wednesday 25th May rumours

Daily Mirror: Spurs want Frankfurt wing-back Filip Kostic

Armed with a big transfer budget, Antonio Conte wants to spend £12m on Eintracht Frankfurt’s Filip Kostic. The 29-year-old was recently named Europa League Player of the Tournament by UEFA and has one year left on his contract.

FPL Comment: Kostic has been a fabulous attacking threat as Frankfurt’s wing-back. His four seasons there have brought 18 goals and 49 assists but it would all depend on how he is classified in FPL. If a defender, he’d be hugely popular. As a midfielder, less so. There would also be the rotation threat with Sergio Reguilon.

Various: Sadio Mane will announce his future after Champions League final

Just after Mohamed Salah stated: “I am staying next season, for sure”, Sadio Mane is being more cryptic about his Anfield future. About to enter his contract’s final year, the 30-year-old said he first wants to focus on the Champions League final. “I’m not saying yes or no, I will answer after.”

FPL Comment: Side-by-side with Salah’s more certain answer, there will naturally be concerns that Mane is about to announce his departure. Of course, it could be nothing. But it’d be interesting to see how a Mane sale would affect the FPL prices of Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota, as well as his replacement.

Telegraph: Jack Harrison wanted by Newcastle

With rich new owners, Newcastle transfer rumours should be taken with a pinch of salt. Each day will bring more. Yet the Telegraph believes the Magpies want Leeds’ Jack Harrison on Tyneside.

FPL Comment: This deal is much harder to complete now that Leeds are staying in the Premier League. Harrison again scored eight league goals in this campaign but it’s unlikely that his club would sell both him and Raphinha in the same summer.
