Best picks from Everton for Double Gameweek 37

Last modified date

Everton play twice in Double Gameweek 37. So let’s assess their best FPL options ahead of matches against Brentford and Crystal Palace.

Momentum is with Everton, as recent wins over Chelsea and Leicester have hauled them from being five points adrift of safety less than two weeks ago to 16th place. Still, they will be determined to quickly secure Premier League survival and their two Double Gameweek 37 fixtures will see many Free Hitters triple-up on the Toffees. According to Fantasy Football Scout’s Fixture Ticker, Everton have the second-best set of matches by hosting Brentford and Crystal Palace.

Their FPL appeal has been minimal all season, having only recently had a player reach the 100 point mark – the last team to do so. And it’s not like either opponent will roll over, given their own great form. Palace have lost just two of their last ten outings, winning half of them. Meanwhile, Brentford have won an incredible six of their latest nine games.

Underlying Stats

An underwhelming campaign for Richarlison has completely changed since Gameweek 31. In these six Gameweeks, no player has more goal attempts (28), shots on target (12), shots inside the box (24) or penalty area touches (58).

Four recent goals have taken him up to 106 points and straight onto FPL managers’ radars. In fact, many will see him as a must-have for this upcoming round, despite not scoring during Double Gameweek 36.

Ownership for Double Gameweek

Everton’s defence has improved of late, which could encourage managers to pick Jordan Pickford. Three clean sheets from their last four home matches, plus one away at Watford last night.

Priced at just £4.7m, Anthony Gordon is a wonderful option to have. Amongst Everton players since Gameweek 21, he ranks second for chances created (24), goal attempts (32) and expected goal involvement (5.66).

He has the highest Everton ownership within the top 10k and is perfect for managers about to Free Hit or Bench Boost, as he brings two strong home games at a price that enables premium options to be squeezed in elsewhere.

Also cheap is £4.2m defender Mason Holgate, with four successive starts. Meanwhile, left-back Vitalii Mykolenko scored a wonderful goal at Leicester and ended Double Gameweek 36 on 14 points.

Community Chatter

FPL managers without a chip to use should still find a way to own Richarlison and Gordon, believes FPL Osama.

Looking at the average positions of Everton players at Watford last night, Gianni Buttice noticed the high advancement of midfielder Gordon.
