The final FPL fixtures: Which teams should we target and avoid?
With three rounds of matches left, let’s assess the final FPL fixtures and the names that could end the season strongly.
FPL fixtures
The Fantasy Football Scout season ticker allows managers to look at an editable period of Gameweeks of their choosing. Managers can delete Gameweeks, change the ratings of games and sort by difficulty. Here is the ticker for the three remaining Gameweeks:
The FFScout season ticker also offers separate rankings focused on both attack and defence.
Teams to target
Not a huge amount has changed in the standings since our last look a fortnight ago. By only having three weeks to look into, the rankings of Leicester, Everton and Aston Villa are heavily influenced by being the only three teams to double-double.
Each team comes with a red flag to potential buyers but, ultimately, are probably worth the risk. Leicester has European distractions, Everton is freefalling towards relegation and Villa is in mid-table mediocrity. That said, assets like Philippe Coutinho, Ollie Watkins, Matty Cash and James Maddison are currently popular amongst the FPL community.
Furthermore, the game’s three outstanding cheap midfielders belong to these. Anthony Gordon, Jacob Ramsey and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall are therefore very useful options for Bench Boost managers.
Ranked by difficulty, the one team splitting these three at the top is Chelsea. Over two million transfers were used on their assets heading into Double Gameweek 34, so squads are already stacked with a combination of Reece James, Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, Antonio Rudiger, Marcos Alonso and Timo Werner. They have home games against Wolves, Leicester and Watford plus a trip to Leeds.
Another highly-backed team with strong final fixtures is Spurs. Only Liverpool and Chelsea have a higher combined top 10k player ownership, according to LiveFPL. Those with Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Dejan Kulusevski will be encouraged by Burnley (H) and Norwich (a) closing the season, although goals are suddenly a problem for the north London side.
Teams to avoid
Man United are the only team with a Blank Gameweek, so naturally they sit bottom of the ticker. Those still with Cristiano Ronaldo or Bruno Fernandes will surely ditch them for one of the aforementioned options, whilst the many who purchased Fabian Schar and Chris Wood will be planning an escape route.
Elsewhere, Southampton and West Ham rank low, although there is only name with significant ownership – Armando Broja. Wolves have to face Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool in their final four games, so it’s time to sell defensive assets Jose Sa and Conor Coady.
