What to expect from the Gameweek 35 fixtures

With Gameweek 34 underway it’s time to turn our attention to Gameweek 35. With a midweek match between Man United and Chelsea to come ahead of the next deadline it will be important for managers to have a plan ready to initiate quickly in the limited between the two Gameweeks. We take a look at what to expect from the Gameweek 35 fixtures.

Gameweek 35 is a normal Gameweek, with all 20 teams just playing the one match.

All of the stats in this article include data up to and including Gameweek 33.

Gameweek 35 fixtures: Newcastle v Liverpool

There have been 53 previous meetings in the Premier League between Newcastle and Liverpool. Liverpool have won 30 of the previous meetings, Newcastle 11 and there have been 12 draws.

The Merseyside team have won three of the last five Premier League meetings between the sides 3-1, including the reverse of this fixture back in December. Both sides go into this fixture in a good run of form, with Newcastle winning their last three matches and Liverpool haven’t lost since Gameweek 20.

Across these two teams Mo Salah is the top goal scorer with 22. Ronaldo’s teammate Diogo Jota is second with 15 goals and Sadio Mane is third with 14. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Salah are tied first for assists with 12 so far this season. Andy Robertson is third with 10.

On average this season Liverpool create 2.78 chances per match, significantly more than the 0.78 Newcastle create on average. However, Newcastle’s average is significantly better since Eddie Howe took charge.

Defensively Liverpool have kept 19 clean sheets this season, in comparison to six for Newcastle.

Gameweek 35 fixtures: Aston Villa v Norwich

There have been 19 previous meetings in the Premier League between Aston Villa and Norwich. The Villans have won 10 of these, Norwich have collected three points four times and there have been five draws.

Aston Villa have won each of the last four meetings between the clubs in the Premier League. In those matches they have kept three clean sheets and Norwich have scored just one goal.

Gameweek 35 fixtures: Wolves v Brighton

There have been seven meetings in the Premier League between Wolves and Brighton. Wolves have won twice, Brighton once and there have been four draws.

The midlands side have won both of the last two fixtures in the Premier League between these sides.

Both these sides are in a good run of form having won four of their last five matches in the Premier League. Indeed Brentford have won both of their last two London derbies against West Ham and Chelsea. Meanwhile Spurs have scored 16 goals in their last five games.

Across these two teams Neal Maupay is the top scorer with eight goals. Raul Jimenez and Leandro Trossard are tied second with six each. Enock Mwepu is top for assists this season with four. Daniel Podence and Pascal Gross are tied second with three each.

On average Brighton create 1.18 chances per match. In contrast Wolves create 1.09 chances on average.

Wolves have kept 11 clean sheets in comparison to nine for Brighton.

Gameweek 35 fixtures: Leeds v Man City

There have been 17 previous meetings in the Premier League between Leeds and Man City. Leeds have won seven, Man City have taken all three points five times and there have been five draws.

Man City won the reverse of this fixture 7-0 earlier on in the season. Prior to this match Leeds have won two of the last five matches and the other two had been draws.

Across these two teams Mason Mount is the top goal scorer with 10 goals. Richarlison and Kai Havertz are tied second with seven each. Mount is also top for assists with nine. Reece James is second with six and Mateo Kovacic is third with five.

On average this season Chelsea create 1.97 chances per match. This is significantly more than the 0.81 that Everton create on average.

Chelsea have kept 14 clean sheets this season. Everton in comparison have kept just six.

Gameweek 35 fixtures: Tottenham v Leicester

There have been 31 previous meetings in the Premier League between Tottenham and Leicester. Tottenham have won 14 of the matches, Leicester 12 and there have been five draws.

The reverse of this fixture finished 3-2 to Spurs back in January. Of the last five Premier League meetings between the sides Spurs have won three, and Leicester have taken three points twice times.

In the last two games there have been 11 goals scored.

Across these two teams Son Heung-Min is the top goal scorer with 17. Harry Kane is second with 12, and injured Jamie Vardy is third with 10. Kane has registered the most assists this season with eight. Harvey Barnes and Dejan Kulusevski are tied second with six each.

On average this season Spurs create 2.16 chances per match, compared to 1.6 for Leicester.

Spurs have kept 12 clean sheets so far this season, over double that of Leicester who have kept five.

Gameweek 35 fixture: West Ham v Arsenal

There have been 51 previous meetings in the Premier League between West Ham and Arsenal. Arsenal have won 33 of the matches, West Ham have win eight and there have been 10 draws.

Arsenal have won four of the last five matches between these two sides in the Premier League.

Across these two teams Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith-Rowe are the top goal scorers with 10 goals. Jarrod Bowen is third with nine. Bowen is top for assists across these two teams with eight. Michail Antonio and Alexndre Lacazette are tied second with seven each.

On average this season West Ham create 1.52 chances per match, in comparison to 1.06 for Arsenal.

Arsenal have kept 13 clean sheets, West Ham have kept seven.

Gameweek 35 fixtures: Man United v Brentford

There has only been one previous meetings in the Premier League between Man United and Brentford. United won the reverse of this fixture 1-3 back in January.

Brentford have been on an excellent run of form in the Premier League having won four of their last five fixtures. In contrast Man United’s form has been more inconsistent.

Across these two teams Cristiano Ronaldo is top for goals scored with 15. Ivan Toney is second with 12 and Bruno Fernandes is third with nine. Paul Pogba is top for assists with nine, followed by Bryan Mbeumo with seven and Fernandes who has six.

On average this season United create 1.79 chances per match, compared to 1.24 for Brentford.

Both sides have kept seven clean sheets.
