Today’s FPL Gossip: The next moves of Haaland, Gallagher and Pope

Last modified date

A look at the latest rumours and bits of gossip that the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) community is talking about.

FPL Gossip

Erling Haaland agrees personal terms with Man City for summer transfer

Several sites are confidently claiming that Man City will trigger Erling Haaland’s £62m release clause after successfully agreeing personal terms of around £500,000 per week. Renowned international journalist Fabrizio Romano has joined in, whilst adding Real Madrid should not be ruled out despite their priority being Kylian Mbappe.

The 21-year-old Dortmund star is already one of the world’s best strikers. It’s scary to think what this Man City could be, should they retain their Premier League title and then add Haaland. Therefore, he’d likely get a huge FPL price tag next season. Somewhere in the £11.0m to £12.0m range, as an estimate.

Crystal Palace will attempt to sign Conor Gallagher permanently

Although FPL returns have dried up significantly in recent weeks, loanee Conor Gallagher is still the game’s 12th highest-scoring midfielder. His eight goals and six assists have led to three England caps and calls for him to become a big player at parent club Chelsea. However, names like N’Golo Kante, Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek will provide tough competition.

In a World Cup year, first team football is vital. So Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish will explore the potential of signing Gallagher permanently this summer.

“I’m sure at the end of the season, Conor will work out what he thinks the best thing for him is. If there’s an opportunity to get him or even Ruben Loftus-Cheek, then of course.”

West Ham interested in Nick Pope purchase

The Times and Daily Mail believe West Ham want to sign Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope, should the Clarets get relegated. The 29-year-old could cost around £10m but won’t agree to the move unless he is first choice ahead of Lukasz Fabianski.
