Gameweek 33: community score predictions

Last modified date

Our community score predictions panel take a look at the Gameweek 33 fixtures. When making FPL decisions many FPL managers mentally predict the outcome of matches and use this to target players.

Considering:

  • Who will win?
  • Will there be a clean sheet in this match?
  • How many goals can I see being scored?
  • How many players do I want to play in this game?

Gameweek 33 will see seven teams play twice. There are also three teams Leeds, Wolves and Aston Villa who do not play at all in Gameweek 33. In addition both of the FA Cup semi-final ties happen after the FPL deadline.

Our community score predictions panel share their predictions for the matches and what this might mean for our FPL plans.

Gameweek 32

Gameweek 32 throw up some unexpected and interesting outcomes. As a result Gameweek 32 for the panel was relatively low scoring with the panel correctly predicted the result just twice. They did however predict the outcome correctly a further 17 times.

El Statto correctly predicted the outcome in four fixtures and score correctly in the Leicester vs Palace match. Meaning he returned an impressive seven points this week.

FPL Shake n Bake was second with six points.

Key talking points

The panel are predicting 49 home wins, 15 aways wins and 20 draws this weekend. All of the panel believe Spurs will win at home to Brighton and Man United will beat Norwich at home. They also all think Liverpool will win at home to Man United, Chelsea will beat Arsenal at Stamford Bridge and Man City will win at home with Brighton.

With the exception of FPL Rabbi all of the panel also believe that West Ham will win at home to Burnley and Arsenal will win away at Southampton. FPL talking points is the only panellist who thinks Everton will win at home to Leicester.

Of the Double Gameweek teams the panel favour Newcastle and Leicester to score plenty of goals and therefore the attacking players look good options.

The panel are predicting 41 clean sheets this weekend meaning investing in defenders could be wise. Most of the panel are predicting clean sheets for Spurs, Man United (v Norwich) and Liverpool. Everyone predicted a clean sheet for Man City.

Community Chatter

FPL Shake n Bake

I can see this week being a tough one for Brighton, so I would avoid/sell their assets despite their Double gameweek.

From those teams with two fixtures this week, I quite like the look of Manchester United’s David De Gea. I’m expecting a clean sheet against Norwich and plenty of opportunities for saves points at Anfield.

I also like Matt Targett at Newcastle. Newcastle’s double sees them play two teams after what could be classed as their biggest games of the season. With Leicester playing in Europe and Crystal Palace in the FA Cup Newcastle could profit from tired legs, and weary heads.

Targett is also on corners for Newcastle, and we all know how much Leicester love to concede from set-pieces.

FPL Talking Points

With a lot of the conversation this week revolving around big hitting single gameweek players vs double gameweek players, I took a little extra time to think about the results of Spurs, Liverpool, and City.

Not sure any of those three teams will really go off this week. I don’t predict any of these teams will score more than two goals in their respective matches. This allows free-hitters especially to focus on loading up on Double Gameweek players. However, beware of that the Double Gameweek stars are rarely who we think they are going to be!

El Statto

Getting towards the end of the season and you start to get a few unexpected results. Especially the teams near the bottom batting for survival who are playing teams already safe.

Newcastle with a home double look a good differential team to target this week. Chris Wood could be a good pick in the troublesome forward positions in fpl this season.

I think Arsenal will bounce back from back-to-back defeats against a Saints team who have struggled in recent weeks. I would also back Lacazette to score too, even though he hasn’t scored in open play for 10 hours.
