Top Picks for Gameweek 32

Last modified date

Gameweek 32 see’s one of the biggest games of the season when Liverpool play Man City. This fixture will have a huge impact on who wins the league as well as on FPL seasons. Many FPL managers will be highly invested in this match. We take a look at the top picks for Gameweek 32 to navigate those hard to call fixtures.

The Fantasy Football Scout fixture ticker has Leeds top for Gameweek 32. Leeds face a Watford team who have won just once in their last four Premier League matches. Burnley sit second, they face Norwich who sit third on the ticker. Indeed the top four teams on the fixture ticker all face each other this weekend.

Liverpool are bottom of the ticker with Man City just above them. The two sides play each other in the 4:30 game on Sunday. Key fixtures at both the top and bottom of the league will likely make this a difficult Gameweek for FPL managers.

Most FPL managers will find that their key attacking options are up against their key defensive ones this weekend. This means that using transfers wisely and carefully considering the captains armband. However, just because the fixture is difficult doesn’t mean we should write off key players all together.

For example, Salah has a good record against the big teams returning in his last three against City and three of his last four against Gameweek 33 opponents Manchester United. Indeed his last match against United saw a 24 point haul.

Top picks for Gameweek 32

Bruno Fernandes

Manchester United are in a difficult moment. In Gameweek 31 Leicester were unlucky to leave Old Trafford with just a draw, they could have easily taken all three points. With only one win in their last four Premier League games, Manchester United will need to be on form against Everton in Gameweek 32 to keep their chances of European football in the 2022/23 season alive.

Bruno Fernandes has three attacking returns for United in the last six Gameweeks, only Sancho has more in the United team.

Bruno is top for expect goal involvement (xGI) and non-penalty expected goal involvement (NPxGI) in the last six Gameweeks. He has also had the most goal attempts across the Red Devils squad with 16 and the most big chances with three. His six chances created are only beaten by two other United players.

Fernandes has returned in all of his four meetings with Gameweek 32 opponents Everton. Returning for goals, two assists and six bonus points. He averages 9.75 points per match against them.

With United needing to secure all three points, Everton’s poor form in the league and Bruno’s historic record against the Toffees, he looks a top pick for this weekend.

Jarrod Bowen

For a large period of this season Jarrod Bowen has been an excellent FPL pick. However, managers started to sell when his form dipped in Gameweek 26 and then again with his injury in Gameweek 28. However, Bowen was back in the West Ham starting XI in Gameweek 31 and registered his seventh double-digit haul of the season so far. Bowens goal, assist and all three bonus points will put him firmly back on the agenda of FPL managers, especially ahead of a Gameweek 32 fixture against Brentford.

Bowen scored in the reverse of this fixture back in Gameweek 7, returning seven points for his owners. With Bowen back to full fitness and West Ham pushing for European football. the West Ham midfielder looks likely to be a top pick for Gameweek 32.

James Maddison

The Foxes midfielder has returned in three of his last four Premier League appearances. In that time racking up 24 points. He is currently the second most transferred in player ahead of Gameweek 32.

After his Gameweek 31 assist Maddison now has eight goals and seven assists this season. This is equal to his best-ever season for attacking returns. With a great run of fixtures to the end of the season Maddison could be an excellent differential if he can maintain his fitness.

For long term investment FPL managers should however be mindful of Leicesters continued involvement in the Europa Conference League. The Premier League’s Double Gameweek announcement means that if Leicester make it to the Conference League final they will play twice a week every week until the end of the season. This could see some rotation across the Leicester starting XI in the league.

Gameweek 32’s fixture with Crystal Palace falls between the Europa Conference League matches. This is something for FPL managers to be mindful of, however with Vardy’s continued absence and Maddison’s form he looks like a top pick for Gameweek 32.

Harry Kane

Kane is likely to be well captained this weekend. The Spurs forward has a good record against Aston Villa having returned in four of his last six Premier League matches against them. In that time he has returned six goals and nine bonus points. Spurs have won seven of the last eight meetings with Villa in all competitions. When you look back even further Villa have won just two of the last 22 meetings between these sides.

Kane has now returned in seven of his last eight Premier League appearances for Spurs this season. He is also top across all outfield players for attacking returns in the last six Gameweeks with 12.

He is second for goal attempts in the same period with 28, only Salah has more with 33. Kane and Spurs will go in to Gameweek 32’s match with Aston Villa in confidence following their 5-1 victory over Newcastle. This makes Kane one of the top picks for Gameweek 32, as well as one of the best captaincy contenders for the Gameweek.

There are a number of great differentials for Gameweek 32 and beyond too. Check them out in our recent article.
