Strong Fixtures

EVERTON

Only Everton and Burnley have been gifted a Double Gameweek 31 – two teams fighting an ugly relegation battle. Perhaps Everton have the stronger pair of outings, as it doesn’t involve facing Man City. It’s just a shame their FPL assets have been so dire. In fact, none of the 20 teams have had a worse top scorer than the Toffees’ Demarai Gray (79 points). Yet that late win over Newcastle could spring a new lease of life, as the threat of relegation gets stronger and stronger. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison need to score soon, surely. There’s also the very cheap option of midfielder Anthony Gordon.

LIVERPOOL

The weekend kicks off at Anfield, where Liverpool have an opponents who they’ve beaten 5-0 on three of the last six occasions. Mohamed Salah, in particular, loves facing Watford. He averages almost 12 points per 90 minutes against them, with four double-digit hauls from seven meetings. This includes 13 points in Gameweek 8 and a phenomenal 29 points from four goals and an assist in 2017/18 season.

The 5-0 of Gameweek 8 saw team mate Roberto Firmino grab a hat-trick and 20 points. But it’s difficult to predict their front three beyond Salah since the arrival of Luis Diaz. Then there’s the Trent Alexander-Arnold injury that will likely rule him out, especially with such a brutal schedule of season-defining April fixtures.

CHELSEA

Elsewhere, the Chelsea defence is starting to prove trustworthy again. Four of their last five league games have seen successful shut-outs, meaning ownership of Antonio Rudiger is important. Perhaps Reece James will be available, offering huge attacking potential.

In midfield, check out our comparison piece on Mason Mount, Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic. Brentford have won two of their last three matches but this won’t faze Thomas Tuchel’s side.
