Who are the top FPL targets for Gameweek 29?

Last modified date

With another Double Gameweek deadline on Saturday FPL managers will be focusing on the top targets for the Gameweek. Some Double Gameweek players performed exceptionally well in Gameweek 28. Others have great season long form, whilst others would be great differentials. We take a look at the top FPL targets for Gameweek 29.

Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool, Everton, Brighton and Newcastle each play twice in Gameweek 29. They are likely to be the key targets for FPL managers. However, some of the FPL communities top FPL targets for Gameweek 29 come from single Gameweek players.

Top FPL Targets: Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs

Arsenal, Liverpool and Spurs look likely to be the most targeted FPL assets for Double Gameweek 29. Arsenal and Spurs also have the benefit of having a fixture in Gameweek 30, which makes them especially attractive.

Managers are likely to target Ramsdale, Lacazette and Saka as the most popular options at Arsenal. You can read more about them here.

At Spurs managers will likely want to target Son and Kane as well as either Kulusevski or a defender. You can read more about them here.

Managers will be torn on who to add to Alexander-Arnold and Salah for Liverpools double. Should they invest in three assets when Liverpool do not play in Gameweek 30? If so is Robertson or Jota the best third pick? You can read more about them here.

I’ve got three transfers in mind to attack to Double Gameweek 29. I might even activate my Bench Boost. Dejan Kulisevski which has been involved in everything in the Spurs attack. Alongside him, Matt Doherty looks to have found his form from his Wolves days. Both of these are key targets of mine for Gameweek 29.

Third opinion might shock a few but I’m actually considering Jordan Pickford for the Everton double. Yes, Everton looked miserable away at Spurs but I do believe Frank Lampard will get a response from them. The Toffee’s have two home matches to save them from relegation. Big gamble, but could be a huge upside.

For me it has to be Bakayo Saka at £6.5m. Saka doubles against Leicester and Liverpool and afterwards has a nice run of fixtures for the foreseeable. With Arsenal chasing down Champions League football Saka will be well motivated and he is in good form with 28 points in his last three games.

I’ve brought in Anthony Gordon at £4.5m for Jacob Ramsey. No, it’s not a headline catching blockbuster move, but Everton have decent fixtures in Double Gameweek 29. They also have many more games to play and will need to win to avoid the relegation zone. A 4.5m midfielder, who’s on set pieces and was the only one praised specifically by Lampard following the Spurs demolition, for me is a fantastic enabler to have on your bench for the rest of the season.

FPL Insights

Conte has become accustomed to playing MattDoherty and with 32 points in the last two Gameweeks he looks like a good option. Doherty is cheap and allows you to have a defender who doubles in Gameweek 29 and plays in Gameweek 30. This is especially useful when there are not many good options in defence, especially in comparison to in midfield for Gameweek 30.

FPL Reactions

My top target for Gameweek 29 is Dejan Kulusevski. With a Double Gameweek ahead and already showing signs of a great FPL asset he’s arguably under priced. Especially because he now looks nailed in that Spurs attack.

I’ve already made a transfer this week, replacing Micahel Olise with Martin Odegaard. At 5.5m Odegaard is a budget friendly, fairly secured way into the Arsenal attack ahead of Double Gameweek 29. Odegaard also boasts a fixture in Gameweek 30, and some nice matches through to the end of the season. Against Watford he was Arsenals most creative player, creating four chances in the game

My top target this week has got to be Saka. I’m looking at removing Coutinho to be able to bring him in. With a Double Gameweek in 29 and good fixtures going forward as well he is probably arsenal’s best attacking threat.
