FPL Fixtures, the Longview GW29: Which teams should we target and avoid?

Last modified date

Long-term planning is ideal but sometimes difficult to execute. With this in mind, let’s assess FPL fixtures beyond the next couple of weeks.

FPL Fixtures

The Fantasy Football Scout season ticker allows managers to look at an editable period of Gameweeks of their choosing. Managers can delete Gameweeks, change the ratings of games and sort by difficulty. Here is the ticker for the next eight Gameweeks:

The FFScout season ticker also offers separate rankings focused on both attack and defence.

Teams to target

Arsenal are fighting for fourth, in good form and out of all cup competitions. Defensive assets like Aaron Ramsdale and Ben White are definitely worth holding onto, while Gabriel Martinelli offers a maverick midfield alternative to the more-guaranteed minutes of Bukayo Saka.

Although the trip to Man United is coloured red and labelled difficult, Spurs notoriously won 6-1 in last season’s equivalent meeting. Owners of Son Heung-min and Harry Kane will be excited for the subsequent matches against Brighton, West Ham and Newcastle.

Despite recently being ranked near the bottom of the season ticker because they lacked Double Gameweeks, West Ham are now third. Fixtures pick up nicely from Gameweek 31, which could get managers looking back towards Jarrod Bowen.

Elsewhere, Leicester have been a quiet FPL side this season but won their last two games with a clean sheet. Alongside three games-in-hand are outings against Brentford (H), Crystal Palace (H) and Newcastle (a), so it may be worth observing whether James Maddison plays consistent minutes. Or perhaps Harvey Barnes and Jamie Vardy are the way to proceed.

Of those without a Gameweek 30 to influence their rank, Liverpool and Chelsea reign supreme. So the usual Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Chelsea defender combination will be unanimous.

Teams to avoid

The freefall of Everton won’t be helped when looking beyond next week’s promising two home games. After Blank Gameweek 30 is a run of opponents that includes Liverpool, Chelsea and Man United. Although the announcement that their match against Crystal Palace has been postponed (because their FA Cup quarter final guarantees one will blank), there’s a strong chance that it’ll simply be moved to that midweek and stay within Gameweek 33.

That also explains Palace’s low ranking, whilst also soon facing Man City (H) and Arsenal (H). Meanwhile, resurgent Newcastle’s fixtures are about to turn poor, likewise for Watford and Burnley.

To summarise, it may be best to sell the likes of Conor Gallagher, Wout Weghorst, Emmanuel Dennis and Josh King.
