Before attention fully turned towards Double Gameweek 28, Burnley played their second match of Gameweek 27 against Leicester. But it was a letdown.
Simultaneously, FA Cup Fifth Round matches took place. In true FPL style, the popular players who blanked in the league game just so happened to deliver this time.
Since then, it’s been full steam ahead for Double Gameweek 28 and the many Wildcards and Bench Boosts being activated.
Some maverick players and captains are being considered amongst the community. In fact, the lure of being the only double-double side over the next two Gameweeks has various Newcastle assets suggested without being followed by raucous laughter. What a remarkable time.
