Gameweek 26: community score predictions

Last modified date

Our community score predictions panel take a look at the Gameweek 26 fixtures. When making FPL decisions many FPL managers mentally predict the outcome of matches and use this to target players.

Considering:

  • Who will win?
  • Will there be a clean sheet in this match?
  • How many goals can I see being scored?
  • How many players do I want to play in this game?

Gameweek 26 is a big one for FPL managers. With eight teams playing twice there is a lot to gain, and potentially a lot to lose from making the wrong decisions. Our community score predictions panel share their predictions for the matches and what this might mean for our FPL plans.

Gameweek 25

Last week the panel predicted the outcome correctly 28 times. All of the panelists yet again, correctly predicted that both Manchester City and Liverpool would win. However, only FPL Talking Points correctly predicted a scoreline saying that Liverpool would beat Burnley 0-1.

There were 6 occasions where a panels correctly predicted the scores in Gameweek 25.

FPL Shake n Bake and FPL Talking Points both correctly predicting the scoreline in two matches. El Statto predicted the scoreline correctly in one match as well as the result in a further six. This means he won the week with seven out of ten accurate predictions.

Leaderboard

To keep track on how our panel are doing we have awarded 3 points for a correctly predicted scoreline and 1 point for a correct outcome but with the wrong scoreline.

Community score predictions

Key talking points

The panel are predicting 47 home wins over the course of this Gameweek. This is equal to 56% of the predictions, with just 18 away wins and 19 draws predicted. All of the panel have predicted that Brighton will beat Burnley, however they are divided in what will happen against Wolves in the second fixture.

All of the panel have predicted two wins for Liverpool. Eight of the predictions having clean sheets in both matches, with just two thinking that Leeds might snatch a consolation goal.

Aston Villa are backed by all bar one of the panel to bounce back in Gameweek 26. They have all predicted that the Villans will win and will score two goals against Watford.

FPL Commentary

FPL Shake n Bake

Liverpool.

Just get Liverpool players! This is arguably the best Double Gameweek you could have, with Liverpool taking on Norwich and Leeds. There is of course risk of rotation as the games are sandwiched between a Champions League match and the Caarabao Cup Final. However, the fixtures are too perfect to ignore.

Other Double Gameweek options I like include Bukayo Saka and Nick Pope. Just make sure you have a plan for Gameweek 27 if you bring in Arsenal or Chelsea outfield players as well as triple Liverpool. Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all blank in Gameweek 27.

Away from the Double Gameweek players, I’m expecting goals galore in the London derby at Selhurst Park. So avoiding defensive assets there looks wise. I also expect Villa to bounce back after a disappointing result last time out, so avoid benching their assets.

FPL Talking Points

I’m predicting no goals for Arsenal across two matches in this Double Gameweek. Therefore I will certainly be avoiding their attackers ahead of Double Gameweek 26. However, I’m also predicting two clean sheets for the Gunners as well, which has me interested in their defense, especially the cut-price Kieran Tierney. We’ll see if the rare double 0-0 comes to fruition though!

Leeds will also continue to give up plenty of goals, so targeting the teams they play in Gameweek 26 makes sense. Liverpool is a no-brainer, and with United gaining confidence against Brighton midweek, their assets should find their way back onto our radar.
