GW19 Team Reveal – Ryan (Football Chatbox)

Each gameweek, a member of the FPL community will kindly reveal their immediate plans and give us some insight into their decision-making process.

Ahead of Gameweek 19, it’s the turn of Ryan (Football Chatbox) to tell us what he intends to do with his/her team.

Hi, Ryan. So how did your Gameweek 18 go?

It went well. I managed to get ten players out, with only Phil Foden not playing from the starting 11. I finished on 65 points, with a small green arrow taking me to an overall rank of 10,535th.

Are you pleased with your current squad? Who is a player you’d like to own but don’t?

Initially when I wrote this, I was happy. Then both the Liverpool v Leeds and Wolves v Watford games got cancelled! Which now means I might bring forward some moves I was thinking of doing in Gameweeks 20 and 21. Now I’m looking at possibly swapping Mohamed Salah to Son Heung-min. Salah has Leicester and Chelsea next before he goes to AFCON, with Son facing Southampton and Watford. On paper the only game I might have to worry about would be Salah against the Foxes. However, the damage may even out with Son hopefully playing in GW19. This plan could change before the deadline if we see more games getting cancelled, especially at Spurs.

Son is the main player I want to own for the upcoming fixtures. Apart from him, I’ve already got Cristiano Ronaldo and after that it’s just a matter of picking players who will actually play!

What are your transfer plans for Gameweek 19 and beyond?

I have 2 free transfers. Initially, the plan was to remove Marcos Alonso for Ben Davies but the Liverpool postponement has me very keen on removing Salah for Son. My second transfer is one I’m still not sure what to do with. I don’t want to remove Diogo Jota or Trent Alexander-Arnold, so I might have to look at the forward line and see what teams are set to have a game on Boxing Day. I could also maybe save the transfer and just field ten players.
