GW19 Team Reveal – FPL Inzaghi

Each gameweek, a member of the FPL community will kindly reveal their immediate plans and give us some insight into their decision-making process.
Ahead of Gameweek 19, it’s the turn of FPL Inzaghi to tell us what he intends to do with his/her team.
(NB/ This was submitted before the announcement that neither Wolves v Watford nor Liverpool v Leeds will take place, postponed because of Covid-19)
Hi, FPL Inzaghi. So how did your Gameweek 18 go?
65 points (-4) and another healthy green arrow, rising from 690k to 570k. I was ranked around 1.1 million in Gameweek 16 but two solid weeks have almost halved my rank. Itās encouraging to be within sight of the top 100k again after a disastrous early Wildcard this season.
I made two transfers in Gameweek 18: Jacob Ramsey & Vicente Guaita made way for Bukayo Saka & Aaron Ramsdale. I reluctantly waved goodbye to Ramsey following the late Aston Villa postponement, whereas it was a joyful adios to the Spanish goalkeeper.
Are you pleased with your current squad? Who is a player you’d like to own but don’t?
Iām reasonably happy with my squad in the short-term. The fixtures for Gameweek 19 fall nicely for my team. However with the impending announcement of a Double Gameweek in 21 and/or 22, Iām anxiously staring at my triple Chelsea defence, Phil Foden, Saka and Michail Antonio, wondering how I can turn these players into Tottenham or Man United assets.
With my squad as it is, itās likely Iāll utilise a Free Hit in 21 or 22 to maximise my points potential with extra matches.
I’d like to own Son Heung-min. Regardless of whether Antonio Conte persists in using him as a second striker, Son is one of the game’s most lethal and reliable assets. With Crystal Palace, Southampton and Watford as their next three opponents, plus the certain Double Gameweeks they have to come, Son is an incredibly attractive option. Iāve spread the cash around my squad so itās difficult to get him until Salah runs off to the AFCON but, for managers with an easy route to Son, heād be my top transfer in.
What are your transfer plans for Gameweek 19 and beyond?
It all depends on whether Aston Villa vs Chelsea goes ahead. With four players in that match (not including Jed Steer), a postponement would hit my squad hard. If itās called off, Iāll likely pull the trigger on switching Antonio Rudiger to Ben Davies or Sergio Reguilon and then Marcos Alonso to Diogo Dalot from Manchester United. This four-point hit would give me enough funds to upgrade Saka to Son prior to Spurs potential Double Gameweek(s).
However, if the game is on, Iāll save my transfer and use two next time.
And finally, what about captaincy?
Well done if you went for Joao Cancelo last weekend. However, I donāt think Gameweek 19 is the time to go against captaining Mohamed Salah. Leeds have conceded 16 goals in their last four matches and look bereft of both confidence and quality at the back.
