Fantasy Football Tips Gameweek 20

Fantasy Football Tips GW20 from our Fantasy Football Community ahead of the deadline.

With Kevin De Bruyne out injured for a month, who should we be replacing him with in the Fantasy Football tips for Gameweek 20?

Injuries

There’s plenty of injury news for the fantasy football tips gameweek 20, including Jamie Vardy and Kevin De Bruyne who are both on the treatment bench. They top the transfers out, with De Bruyne significantly set to be absent for 4-6 weeks. We will see plenty of transfer traffic among midfielders ahead of the deadline.

Fixtures

When searching for replacements, both fixtures and form have to be considered in the conversation. Chelsea, Leicester City and Manchester City are sides with the best offensive fixtures over the next five games, with a number of credible options to consider from each of their squads.

Midfielders

Many managers are eyeing up a straight swap within the Manchester City midfield, from Kevin De Bruyne to Ilkay Gundogan. He has the form and the underlying statistics suggest that this is justified given his on pitch actions. The question mark is rotation and positioning with De Bruyne out of the squad, but he should be on penalties.

Defence

One thing is for sure, it’s worth being at least doubly invested in the Manchester City defence right now given their incredible recent form. John Stones took the headlines last time around, with Cancelo the more obvious rotation risk. There’s plenty to consider in this thread from FPL Architect on the merits of Stones, Cancelo and Dias.

Selection

With plenty of potential transfers on the agenda for the FPL GW20 Tips, FPL Tips shares his team selection. An injured Kevin De Bruyne makes way, with his replacement among the highest scoring midfielders in the game right now. There’s also a captaincy dilemma to consider, with the potential for big gains to be made.

Poll

Considering the captaincy this week, FPL General poses another poll. The voting has since closed, with nearly 10,000 managers getting involved in expressing their opinion. It gave stark results, with Bruno Fernandes the runaway first choice this week, ahead of assets from Manchester City. Will you be on the Bruno wagon?

Planning

We’ve just got blank and double gameweeks out of the way, but more are coming on the horizon. Transfers made now could influence how well your squad might be set up for the next double in Gameweek 26. Manchester City and Spurs in particular are likely to have a promising pair of fixtures, but this won’t be finalised for some weeks to come.

Keepers

While the goalkeeper slot is rarely changed by fantasy managers, there’s one who could be worth jumping for this week, especially if anyone has a wildcard active. Nick Pope already looks to be building on what was a very impressive campaign last time around and fantasy legend Mark Sutherns has been taking note.

Midfielders

With most transfer traffic this week coming in the midfield bracket, Adam Hopcroft shares the form assets from the last 10 games, spanning two months. Four players have five goals in this spell, including Mo Salah and Ilkay Gundogan, with Bruno Fernandes and Heung-Min Son dominating when it comes to overall offensive returns with nine apiece.

Leicester

Maddison and Barnes are two players featuring highly on the above list who have seen significant transfers in this week, with James Maddison top at the time of writing. It’s difficult to separate this pair, but FPL Chimp Paradox has crunched the numbers on this Leicester City duo. There’s a firm favourite in there.

Differentials

When we consider ownership, Harvey Barnes is somewhat of a differential and with the template now in tatters, there’s a wealth of low owned players who could propel you up the overall league standings if they bang. All About FPL have provided their analysis, with options from Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea to consider too.

Ownership

Ownership and effective ownership more specifically are buzzwords within the FPL community, but how significant is effective ownership over the course of the season? It’s the feature topic on another in-depth episode of the Who Got The Assist? podcast, which also has all the usual pre-gameweek features.

Form

FPL Spectrum has updated the form charts at the half-way point in the season and there are four players head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to consistency. The Spurs duo of Kane and Son still dominate, with Bruno Fernandes overtaking Mo Salah given recent swings in form. Should all four be in our squads?

Odds

The bookies odds can be very insightful when it comes to nailing down those selections and captaincy. FPL Salah provides the latest anytime goalscorer probabilities, with just one player managing to cross the magical 50% barrier. Injuries to De Bruyne and Vardy, plus Spurs facing Liverpool mean the options are lacking somewhat.
